Loan, mortgage or student loan for further education?

Thursday, October 14th, 2010
j2008 asked:

I need $7000 for a school tuition and try to find the smartest way to finance that. The private school does not offer student loans from the government. What do you think?

And what is it about the advertisement “mothers get money from the state to get back to school”? I will be a mother in May – are there any state fonts for further education for mothers?

Friday, October 8th, 2010
bubbles500 asked:

I currently attend the University of Texas at Austin and I need a loan. I can’t afford my tuition or living expenses and i didn’t get enough financial aid. I don’t want to have to start paying my loan until after i graduate. Should i try to get a loan through UT, a government loan, or a federal loan?

Thanks a lot!

Question about qualifying for student loans, grants for part time university?

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010
Dadof4Kiddies asked:

I want to get some financial help with going to school, I have 8 more classes until I get my bachelors.

I am a stay at home mom of one child (living in California) and my husband makes $46,000/year.

I have a 3.78 GPA and I am hoping I can qualify for some kind of grant or get some free funding from the government.

Can I still get my college tuition and/or books paid for if I only take one class (3 units) a semester? If I don’t get my schooling paid for, can I get a loan that doesn’t accumulate interest if I am only taking 3 units a semester?

I need advice! Thanks!

How do I pay for college if I can’t really get government loans?

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010
Ven asked:

Ok so I find myself trying to pay for private college right now. The tuition so far is around 14,000 and yea I really have no way to pay for this. I would really like to go to this college but I don’t have any financial aid because well my parents passed and I’m living with my older sister and she can’t afford to to put me through college and we’re not really close because things are just weird in my family so I can’t really apply for FAFSA. I also can’t seem to find any banks willing to give me a student loan since I don’t have credit history nor a cosigner. I’m also unemployed right now but was planning to work on campus during school. I just don’t know what to do right now. Is there anywhere i can possibly get a loan for that much or maybe a series of loans to add up to 14k?

I need help finding a private student loan?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
just me asked:

HELP! I need help finding a private student loan. I have no credit history myself and every cosigner I have has been denied due to bankruptcy or bad credit. I only receive a small amount of money from government loans and that amount doesn’t even cover a quarter of what I need for the year. Does anyone know of a private student loan that is not credit based or a loan that I would be accepted for even if the cosigner previously had bad credit?

Would This Disqualify Me For Low Income Status On my Student Loans?

Monday, August 30th, 2010
agactual asked:

I am trying to get student loans through the government, for grad school, and I am not sure what is going on with my income status. My parents wanted me to fill out all of my future student loans on my own. They didn’t want to get involved anymore.

In the FAFSA it asked me to state how much money I made in 2008, which was $0. I didn’t have a job while I was finishing my last year as an undergrad. I paid most of my bills with student loans and money that I had saved up from a previous job. So it says that I am a low income student.

The problem is that while I made $0 last year and will probably only make $4000 this year, my parents, whom I still live with and may still claim me as a dependent, make a combined $100,000 a year. Even though I do pay most of my bills and make very little money, would I be lose the aid i was awarded or have to start the whole process over again, because of how much my parents make?

Worth it to get student loans for community college in San Diego?

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010
Josh asked:

I’m curious about attending community college. I currently work full time and am interested in finally going to school. Unfortunately I cannot even afford going to community college due to being weighed down with bills and credit debt that I am now paying off. I know if I went to National University I could get loans to pay for everything but not so sure how that works for a community college. I’m interested in doing all my general ed at Grossmont or Miramar College which would save me a LOT of money in the long run since its about $1500 per class at National and about $100 at community college. Does the government/banks even offer student loans for people to attend community college? Or should I just put this on the backburner for a couple more years?

I cannot keep up with near 900 a month and rent bills etc. I am enrolled in a loan forgivness for my federal loans, but thats fine and dandy, its these evil private loans I need help with. This is literally ruining my life which I went to school to make better. I would have been better off working at walmart for 4 yrs and learning a trade. Help me..
